ONLINE PAYMENT PROCESSING

We are committed to providing a safe and secure online shopping experience for our valued customers.

All online orders are processed through our payment processor PayPal who provide 100% protection from unauthorised payments and enable you to securely pay for a transaction with your debit or credit card, without revealing your card details to the merchant. (Please refer to PayPal's Security Centre page).  PayPal utilise 128-bit Secured Sockets Layering (SSL) technology to protect and safeguard all of your details.  SSL is the industry standard for encryption and enables millions of secure online transactions everyday.

What is encryption?

Encryption is a way of encoding information to make it virtually impossible for someone else to read, unless they have the 'key' to decipher it.

The latest web browsers available from Microsoft and Netscape offer 128-bit encryption technology. Our online payment facilities cannot be used without 128-bit encryption - for your security and peace of mind.

These encryption algorithms serve as locks on the vaults of your order information. While PayPal and your computer can easily translate this code back to a meaningful language, this process is a practically impossible task for unauthorised intruders. That's because there are trillions of possible keys that could potentially solve each formula -- but only one that will work. When you order from us, your computer and PayPal agree on a random number that serves as the key for the rest of the transaction. What that random number could be depends largely on the strength of encryption your browser utilises.

How do I know if my online payment process is encrypted?

You know that your data has been encrypted by looking for the following icons in the lower portion of your browser that lets you know that the browser is using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL):

Browsers:
IE5 and above:
Netscape 4.7 and above:

NOTE: Netscape displays the icon on the lower left corner of the browser. Microsoft displays the icon on the lower right corner of the browser.

You can also check that data is being sent securely using encryption by looking at URL in your browser window when you are viewing your shopping cart or have progressed further with your order. The letter "s" is added to the familiar "http" (to make "https") which indicates that SSL is in operation.

What is the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)?

SSL provides a secure communications link between your browser and PayPal, our online payment processor, for which all information passed back and forth is encrypted. SSL is now supported by all major browsers and is generally accepted as a way of doing business securely over the internet.

Microsoft Internet Explorer (5 and above) and Netscape (4.7 and above) provide detailed information on security levels in the "Preferences" or "Internet Options" section located in the browser's menu bar. See your browser's help or documentation for more information.
